Electric Car Tax in Nepal
विद्युतीय कार, जीप तथा भ्यानको वार्षिक सवारी कर
An electric four-wheeler is taxed on its motor power in kilowatts, not on engine size — there is no CC to band it by. The rate then depends on the province it is registered in. On the rates loaded here it runs from Rs 5,000 to Rs 35,000 a year.

Where an EV is cheapest to tax
Provinces disagree far more on electric vehicles than on petrol and diesel. On the lowest band alone the gap is Rs 5,000 in Madhesh against Rs 11,000 in Lumbini — so an “electric car tax in Nepal” figure quoted without a province is wrong nearly everywhere.

How electric car tax is worked out
Motor powerThe band comes from the peak motor output in kW on your bluebook — not the battery size in kWh.
ProvinceEach province sets its own rates, and on EVs they differ by more than double at the bottom of the range.
On top of the taxBluebook renewal and third-party insurance are charged separately from the figures above.
